What is SOC 2 Type 1 certification?
SOC 2 Type 1 certification is considered the gold standard for security compliance for software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies.
The certification validates that Aware's systems are designed to maintain confidentiality and integrity of all communications and our team is committed to high availability standards that ensure customers’ reliable, consistent product access. Both are accomplished through technical controls, policies and procedures.
The SOC 2 Type 1 audit required a written description of Aware’s security procedures, including protocols for storing, encrypting and protecting sensitive data.

Achieving SOC 2 Type 1 certification means that our internal software development processes and practices meet required levels of oversight and monitoring. Our team will complete the SOC 2 Type 2 audit in the coming months, which will further validate our controls and security framework.
