Aware welcomes Mark Harris, Chief Technology Officer, Scott Williams, Chief Revenue Officer, and Brian Mannion, Chief Legal and Data Protection Officer
Aware, the only comprehensive AI solution for governance, risk, compliance (GRC) and insights for leading digital collaboration technologies in the modern workplace, today announced the appointments of Mark Harris, Scott Williams and Brian Mannion to newly created roles within the Aware leadership team.
I’m thrilled to add Mark, Scott and Brian to our team," said Jeff Schumann, CEO and Co-Founder of Aware. "Together, with the rest of our leadership team, I look forward to Mark, Scott and Brian helping to drive Aware into exponential growth and success.”
Harris joins as Chief Technology Officer and will lead the scaling of the Aware platform and technical team during this period of explosive growth. He joins Aware from Fuse by Cardinal Health, where he led development of pharmacy-facing software for COVID-19 vaccine distribution and administration. Previously, Harris also held leadership roles at Microsoft, CoverMyMeds and Grange Insurance. Through his 15-years at Microsoft, he held management and leadership positions in both engineering and sales, including Lead Program Manager for Windows XPSP2 and Windows Server 2003 R2. In 2010, Harris joined Grange Insurance, where he led QA and created the QA or the Highway, a regional conference serving thousands of software quality assurance professionals. At CoverMyMeds, he was responsible for engineering and technical sales for the provider-facing elements of the system, enabling prospective prior authorization directly within the top 10 EHR systems. Harris joined Fuse by Cardinal Health after CoverMyMeds’ $1.4B acquisition by McKesson in 2017.
Harris serves on the board of the Columbus chapter of Conscious Capitalism and is a loyal supporter of Pelotonia—he has participated in the cycling fundraiser each year since its inception and raised over $30,000. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science from The Ohio State University, a Master of Science from University of Washington and an MBA from Xavier University.
Mark brings an incredible blend of experience in the startup and enterprise space and is deeply technical with a keen understanding of the business as a whole," said Schumann.
Williams joins Aware as Chief Revenue Officer and is charged with accelerating revenue growth, including expanding channel sales and strategic go-to-market efforts as the shift to the modern workplace continues to grow exponentially. He brings more than 20 years’ experience building disruptive integrated sales and marketing strategies for Silicon Valley software companies such as IBM, Twilio, AT&T, and ServiceNow. An early employee at Twilio, Williams built the business development function, established sales processes and, in tandem with the Chief Marketing Officer, developed the go-to-market strategy and value proposition. In his tenure at Twilio, Williams grew the team from 12 to more than 200 and doubled the revenue to nearly $470 million. Similarly, he helped ServiceNow grow to a $1 billion company in his role as a sales director. His tenacity and energy flows into all areas of his life; an avid runner, Williams has completed 47 marathons and ultramarathons. He received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from Ohio University.
Scott is poised to take our go-to-market efforts to the next level, with his proven track record in technology sales and cross-functional work in product and marketing," Schumann continued.
Mannion joins Aware as Chief Legal and Data Protection Officer. In addition to managing all legal and privacy functions, he brings a unique view that offers insights for product development and sales activities targeted at the legal and compliance sector. Prior to joining Aware, Mannion led a team of lawyers and compliance professionals at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company where he was Assistant Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Technology, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Fraud and Sanctions. Mannion received his bachelor’s degree from Miami University and is a graduate of the Capital University School of Law. He is a past president of the Central Ohio Association of Corporate Counsel, a former board member at the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center and currently coaches middle school basketball.
Brian brings enterprise-grade understanding of the legal and compliance requirements needed for Future of Work technologies, as well as expertise in navigating the complexities of new data privacy regulations like the GDPR and CCPA," Schumann said.
Aware was founded in 2017 and quickly penetrated the enterprise market by securing high-profile customers across the globe including Wipro, AstraZeneca, Sun Life Financial, Farmers Insurance, Memorial Health System and British Telecom. Common use cases for Aware include archiving, eDiscovery, monitoring/DLP, data management and preservation, bi-directional retention and regulatory compliance controls for the technologies vital to the modern workplace.
